Verduga-Timmerman Halloween Classic Baseball Game Announced
RANDOLPH, NJ- Two Varsity Baseball Players from Randolph High School, Brandon Lopez and Andrew Hafner, have announced that they will be running a Halloween Costume
Baseball Charity game in honor of their late friends, Calvin Verduga and Jack Timmerman.
The two students from RHS were killed tragically in a car accident on July 26, 2014.
"We believe this event will not only raise a lot of money but will bring this munity together. We would like to celebrate their lives in a ical baseball game. This
game will be one memorable event that can change many lives. "
According the to memorial fund's website, "The concept of this game is to have a ical but yet petitive High School Baseball Game to celebrate the lives of Calvin
Verduga and Jack Timmerman. Randolph High School will be challenging a solid travel Club Baseball team located in Cedar Knolls, the Locked In Expos. We are very
fortunate to have the opportunity to play an elite program in a very special event at RHS."
A special Umpire will be calling the game, "an internet sensation", ESPN featured, Eddie The Ump. He has recently gained some fame for his enthusiastic and theatrical
strike -out calls.
All of the players will pay a fee to participate in the game, and will wear costumes as well instead of uniforms. Spectators are also encouraged to wear costumes.
The money raised from this event will be distributed to a Scholarship Fund, and it is hoped to have a few years in reserve so that this scholarship fund continues
beyond the class of 2015.
RHS Principal Debbie Iosso said, "We are incredibly proud of our senior baseball players for putting together an event that will hopefully provide a small amount of
fort to the families of Calvin and Jack. The school munity at large will continue to do what we can to honor the passing of two of our seniors."
The Scholarship selection process will be as follows:
Name: Verduga-Timmerman Scholarship Fund
Requirements: Leadership, responsibility, school spirit, high energy, and being well respected by peers/staff.
Application Process: ONE staff/coach Remendation & ONE peer Remendation to highlight these qualities.
Selection Process: The RHS Guidance Department will Review these applications and pick the top 10.
*Pending Approval* 5 Applications will be read by the Verduga Family, and 5 read by the Timmerman Family. One winner will be chosen by each family creating two
winners of the scholarship ($1000*)
The plan is for 20 percent of the proceeds to go to each family and 60 percent will go to the scholarship fund.

T-shirts will be on sale: $10 per shirt
Admission: $3 per person with costume/ without costume $5
To play: $20 per player (players already set)
